Estar Bien y Estar Bueno

(華文)
當到了B級時,開始知道同一個句子有不同的意思。最近,我們談到「estar bien」和「estar bueno」。「estar bien」很簡單,意思是「我很好」,而「estar bueno」卻有3個意思:
1. 沒有生病
2. 食物很美味
3. 性感
因此,如果有人問你「¿Cómo estás?」,你要小心回答。

(English)
When I reached level B, I started to know there are different meanings with a same phrase. Recently, we talk about ‘estar bien’ and ‘estar bueno’. ‘Estar bien’ is simple, means ‘in good condition’. Meanwhile, ‘estar bueno’ has 3 meanings,
1. not sick
2. the food is delicious
3. sexy
So, if someone asks you: ‘¿Cómo estás?’, answer carefully.

(Español)
Cuando llegué al nivel B, empecé a saber más significados de una misma frase. Últimamente, hablamos sobre ‘estar bien’ y ‘estar bueno’. ‘Estar bien’ es simple, significa ‘en estado bueno’. Mientras, ‘estar bueno’ tienen 3 significados,
1. no estar enfermo
2. la comida es deliciosa
3. una persona sexy
Por eso, si alguien te pregunta: ‘¿Cómo estás?’, responde con cuidado.

和老師的對話/Dialogue with ProfessorDialógo con Profesor

Fernando: ‘¿Cómo está tu esposo?’
Sylvia: ‘Está bien pero no está bueno.’
Fernando: ‘¿Por qué lo elegiste?’
Sylvia: ‘Porque estaba bien y estaba bueno.’
Fernando: ‘¿Cómo estas?’
Sylvia: ‘¿Yo? No estoy bien y no estoy buena.’
Fernando: ‘Y antes?’
Sylvia: ‘Antes, estaba bien y estaba buena.’
Fernando: ‘No sé.’

虛擬式:如果/The Subjuctive: If/ El Subjuntivo: Si

Si yo tengo dinero, iré a España.
Si yo tuviera dinero, iría a España.
Si hubiera tenido dinero, habría ido a España.

(華文)
在「如果」的情況下,我們也要用虛擬式,「如果」有3種:presente + futuro, imperfecto de subjuntivo + condicional, pluscuamperfecto de subjuntivo + condicional compuesto。例如:

(English)
We use subjunctive in “if” situation too. There are 3 types of “if”: presente + futuro, imperfecto de subjuntivo + condicional, pluscuamperfecto de subjuntivo + condicional compuesto. For example:

(Español)
Usamos el subjuntivo en situación ‘si’ también. Hay 3 tipos de ‘si’: presente + futuro, imperfecto de subjuntivo + condicional, pluscuamperfecto de subjuntivo + condicional compuesto. Por ejemplo:

1.          Si yo tengo dinero, iré a España. (presente + futuro)
2.          Si yo tuviera dinero, iría a España. (imperfecto de subjuntivo + condicional)
3.          Si hubiera tenido dinero, habría ido a España. (pluscuamperfecto de subjuntivo + condicional compuesto)

Presente + Futuro

(華文)
這個行動很可能在未來發生或它是一個計劃。
例子:你計劃去西班牙,但你現在沒錢。因此,你現在必須存錢,然後再去西班牙。這種情況下,你說:「Si yo tengo dinero, iré a España.」意思是「如果我有錢,我將會去西班牙。」

(English)
The action is highly possible happened in the future or it’s a plan.
For example: You have a plan of going to Spain but you don’t have money now. So, you need to save money, then go to Spain. You say: “Si yo tengo dinero, iré a España.” Meaning, “If I have money, I’ll go to Spain.”

(Español)
La acción es muy posible en el futuro o es un plan.
Por ejemplo: Tienes un plan de ir a España, pero no tienes dinero ahora. Por eso, necesitas ahorrar dinero ahora, luego, vas a España. Dices: Si yo tengo dinero, iré a España.

Imperfecto de subjuntivo + Condicional

(華文)
這個行動現在幾乎不可能發生。
例子:你是一名學生,你現在沒錢,近期內也不會有錢,但是你很想去西班牙。這種情況下,你說:「Si yo tuviera dinero, iría a España.」意思是「如果我有錢,我就去西班牙。」

(English)
The action is almost impossible happened now.
For example: You are a student. You don’t have money now or in the near future, but you wish to go to Spain. You say: “Si yo tuviera dinero, iría a España.” Meaning, “If I had money, I would go to Spain.”

(Español)
La acción es casi imposible ahora.
Por ejemple: Eres un estudiante. No tienes dinero ahora, o cerca en el futuro, pero deseas ir a España. Dices: Si yo tuviera dinero, iría a España.

Pluscuamperfecto de subjuntivo + Condicional compuesto

(華文)
這個行動在過去是不可能發生的。
例子:你是一名學生,很想去西班牙。你的朋友問你為什麼你從沒去過西班牙。這種情況下,你說:「Si hubiera tenido dinero, habría ido a España.」意思是「如果我有錢,我早就去了西班牙。」

(English)
The action is impossible happened in the past.
For example: You are a student and you wish to go to Spain. Your friend asks you why you have never been to Spain. You say, “Si hubiera tenido dinero, habría ido a España.” Meaning, “If I had had money, I would have gone to Spain.”

(Español)
La acción es imposible en el pasado.
Por ejemple: Eres un estudiante y deseas ir a España. Tu amigo te pregunta por qué nunca has ido a España. Dices: Si hubiera tenido dinero, habría ido a España.

虛擬式:祝福用語/The Subjunctive: Wish/El Subjuntivo: Deseo

Ojalá tengas un buen día.
Ojalá tuvieras un buen día.
Ojalá hayas tenido un buen día.
Ojalá hubieras tenido un buen día.

(華文)
文法對外國人來說總是不容易,虛擬式是西班牙語中的大魔王,我混亂了好長一段時間。虛擬式有4種:presenteimperfectoperfectopluscuamperfecto,各有不同的意義,但看起來都很像。我覺得用相同的句子,不同的虛擬式比較容易明白其意義。例如:

(English)
Grammar is not easy for foreigners always. The subjunctive is the devil in Spanish. I was confused for a long time. They are 4 types of subjunctive: presente, imperfecto, perfecto y pluscuamperfecto. They all have different meanings but look alike. It’s much easier for me to understant the differences with the same phrases in different subjunctive. For example,

(Español)
La gramática no es fácil para los extranjeros siempre. El subjuntivo es el diablo del español. Yo estaba confundida con el condicional por largo tiempo. Hay 4 tipos de subjuntivo: presente, imperfecto, perfecto y pluscuamperfecto. Todos tienen significados diferentes, pero parecen el mismo. Me pareció más fácil entender las diferencias con las misma frases en diferentes subjuntivos. Por ejemplo,

1.          Ojalá tengas un buen día. (presente)
2.          Ojalá tuvieras un buen día. (imperfecto)
3.          Ojalá hayas tenido un buen día. (perfecto)
4.          Ojalá hubieras tenido un buen día. (pluscuamperfecto)

Ojalá tengas un buen día. (presente)

(華文)
情境:你的朋友告訴你,明天他要和一個女生去海邊,然後你對他說:「Ojalá tengas un buen día.」因為「有美好的一天」這個動作是可能在現在或未來實現的,意思是明天你的朋友很可能和那個女生在海邊渡過美好的一天。

(English)
Scenario: Your friend tells you that he is going to the beach with a girl tomorrow. And you tells him:“ Ojalá tengas un buen día.” Because the action is possible in the present or in the future. Meaning, it is highly possible that your friend will have a good day with a girl at the beach.

(Español)
Escenario: Tu amigo te dice que irá a la playa mañana con una chica. Y le dices: Ojalá tengas un buen día. Porque la acción es posible en el presente o en el futuro.

Ojalá tuvieras un buen día. (imperfecto)

(華文)
情境:你的朋友告訴你,明天他要和女上司到海邊出差,然後你告訴他:「Ojalá tuvieras un buen día.」因為「有美好的一天」這個動作是不可能或很難在現在或未來實現,意思是明天你的朋友和上司在海邊不會渡過美好的一天。

(English)
Scenario: Your friend tells you that he is going to the beach with his boss for business tomorrow. And you tells him:“Ojalá tuvieras un buen día.” Because the action is impossible or difficult in the present or in the future. Meaning, it won’t be a good day at the beach with his boss for business.

(Español)
Escenario: Tu amigo te dice que irá a la playa mañana con su jefa por negocios. Y le dices: Ojalá tuvieras un buen día. Porque la acción es imposible o difícil en el presente o en el futuro.

Ojalá hayas tenido un buen día. (perfecto)

(華文)
情境:你的朋友告訴你早上他和一個女生去了海邊,然後你說:「Ojalá hayas tenido un buen día.」因為「有美好的一天」這個動作是在不久前有可能或不確定是否實現,意思是你希望你的朋友在海邊渡過了美好的一天,但你不確定他到底有沒有。

(English)
Scenario: Your friend tells you that he went to the beach with a girl in the morning. And you tell him, “Ojalá hayas tenido un buen día.” Because the action is little possible or not sure in the past recently. Meaning, you wish your friend was having a good day at the beach but you are not sure if he had or not.

(Español)
Escenario: Tu amigo te dice que fue a la playa con una chica en la mañana. Y le dices:  Ojalá hayas tenido un buen día. Porque la acción es poco posible o inseguro en un pasado cercano.

Ojalá hubieras tenido un buen día. (pluscuamperfecto)

(華文)
情境:你的朋友告訴你昨天他和女上司去海邊出差,但生意不成功,然後你說:「Ojalá hubieras tenido un buen día.」因為「有美好的一天」這個動作是在過去不可能實現的,意思是你希望他渡過了美好的一天,但你知道他其實是渡過了很糟糕的一天。

(English)
Scenario: Your friend tells you that he went to the beach with his boss for business yesterday but it didn’t success. You tell him, “ Ojalá hubieras tenido un buen día.” Because the action is imposible in the past. Meaning, you wish your friend had had a good day but you knew he had a bad day.

(Español)
Escenario: Tu amigo te dice que fue a la playa con su jefa por negocios ayer pero no tuvieron éxito. Le dices: Ojalá hubieras tenido un buen día. Porque la acción es imposible en el pasado.

Por eso

(華文)
因此,當你在和拉丁人溝通時,要注意聽,那些句子看起來很像,但卻是不同的。

希望我能掌握虛擬式。

(English)
So, when you comunicate with Latinos, listen carefully. The sentences seem alike but they are not the same.

I hope to masterize the subjunctive.

(Español)
Por eso, cuando te comunicas con los latinos, escuchas con cuidado. Las frases parecen las mismas pero no son iguales.

Deseo dominar el subjuntivo.

DELE B1的考試準備/The Preparation for DELE B1/La Preparación para Tomar DELE B1

¡Vamos!

(English)
In July, I started the preparation of the exam of DELE B1 which was going to hold in November. For me, I never have enough time. I wished I had prepared earlier. For people who is busy, for example, I am a homemaker and a mother, the way that is more effective is to buy the practice exams of DELE. Do an exam first and identify the level. I don’t have such time to do all those tests once. So I did them one by one.

In the A2 exam, the answers are direct but in B1 they are indirect. There are synonyms, opposites and alternative expressions or slangs. Moreover, for listening test, there are accents from all countries. The speed is rapider than A2. The content of comprehension and listening contains all aspects, from diary to politics. There are a lot of expressions of latin humour. So, before sitting for the exam, it’s better to learn more about the latin world through internet, TV or travelling.

(Español)
Empecé mi preparación en julio para tomar el examen DELE B1 en noviembre. Para mí, nunca he tenido tiempo suficiente.

ComprehensionPrueba de Comprensión

(華文)
閱讀理解部份,除了認識更多詞彙,時間控制也是很重要的,我們必須在70分鐘內完成這個部份。我都先做比較簡單的題目,保留10分鐘來填寫答案卷。

(English)
For comprehension, besides learning more words, time control is very improtant too. You need to finish in it 70 minutes. I do the easier part first always. I safe 10 minutes for completing the answer sheet.

(Español)
Para prueba de comprensión, además de aprender más palabras, controlar el tiempo es muy importante. Necesitas terminar en 70 minutos. Siempre, hago la tarea más fácil primero. Ahorro 10 minutos para completar las hojas de respuestas.

聽力/ListeningPrueba Auditiva

(English)
Listening is the devil for me. I need yo listen more. In this test, we need to listen and understand at the same time. Then, we need to read the options, choose the answer and complete the answer sheet in 30 seconds. Moreover, there are different accents, for example, of Argentina, Mexico, Galicia, etc. My way to practice: listen 2~3 times and read the text, cheque the vocabularies and reading along with tape again. After that, I take it like background music. Sometimes, I searched the latin videos from different countries on YouTube for practising. Also, I listen to Spanish songs.

書寫/WritingPrueba Escrita

(華文)
書寫部份,我寫了很多文章。詞形變化和介詞很重要。另外,我會多用「經典」短句,如desde mi punto de vista,我也會用不同的句子來表達同一個意思。我們必須在60分鐘內完成2篇文章,我會先把關鍵字寫下來。

(English)
For writing, I wrote a lot of articles. Conjugation and preposition are important. In addition, I use “classic” phrases more, for example, desde mi punto de vista. I use different phrases for the same meaning too. We need to complete 2 pieces of work in writing test in 60 minutes. I chart down the key words before I write.

(Español)
Para la prueba escrita, escribir muchos artículos. Conjugación y preposición son importantes. Además, uso más frases “clásicas”, por ejemplo, desde mi punto de vista. Uso frases diferents con mismo significado también. Necesitamos completar 2 tareas en la prueba escrita en 60 minutos. Escribo las palabras claves antes de escribir.

會話/ConversationPrueba de Conversación

(華文)
會話部份,由於我沒有什麼時間,所以只和老師練習,但是最好是和母語者練習,通過語言交換或是語言交換軟體。詞形變化、複數和文法很重要,發音更重要。簡報或演講部份,我會先把關鍵字寫下來,再組織得流利,然後冷靜地表達。

(English)
For conversation, because I don’t have much time, I practised with my teahcer only. But, it’s better that you practise with the native speakers more through language exchange or application of language exchange. The conjugation, plural and grammar are important. The pronunciation is very important. In the presentation trial, I write the key words down and organise them first for fluency and then speak calmly.

(Español)
Para la prueba de conversación, proque no tengo mucho tiempo, practiqué con mi profesor solamente. Pero, es mejor que practiques con más nativos por intercambio de lengua o aplicación de intercambio. La conjugación, plural y gramática son importantes. Pronunciación es muy importante. Para la parte de presentación, escribo las claves y las organizo antes para la fluidez y hablar tranquilamente.

沒有簡單的方法,只有多練習。
There is no easy way, just practise more.
No hay manera fácil, solamente practicar más.

聽說讀寫/Listening, Oral, Comprehension, Writing/Auditiva, Oral, Lectura, Escritura

關於語言學習 5/About Learning Languages 5/Sobre Aprender Idiomas 5

熟能生巧,如同做麵包,越做越好。

Practice makes perfect. It is equal to making bread. You will improve from time to time.

La práctica hace la perfección. Es egual a hacer el pan. Mejoras de vez en cuando.

學習外語不容易,特別是那些語言在當地很少使用。我們沒有那個練習的環境,但這並不會阻止我們學習。我記得我的西班牙文老師Yolanda告訴我,她在大學學西班牙文時,每天都把西班牙文的電台開著,或播放課本的CD一整天,當作是一種背景,不論有沒有聽懂。有一天,她發現她竟然聽懂了。

Learning foreign languages are difficult especially they are seldom used locally. We don’t have the environment to practice but it won’t stop us from learning. I remembered that the story of my Spanish teacher, Yolanda. She told me that when she was learning Spanish in the university, she turned on her Spanish radio or CD from the textbook all day long as her background music. It didn’t matter if she understood. And one day, she found that she understood the content.

Aprender idiomas extranjeros es difícil especialmente si usa raramente en el área local. No tenemos el ambiente para practicar. Pero eso no nos impedirá aprender. Me recuerdo de la historia de mi profesora Yolanda. Me dijo que cuando ella estudiaba español en la universidad, ponía la radio de español o el CD del libro todos los días como fondo. No importaba si entendía o no. Y un día, ella descubrió que entendía.

──────────────────────────

聽/Listening/Auditiva

The listening is harder for me. The entrance of words is faster than reading. If we can’t catch the words, we will lose certain information. Although we catch the words, we need some time to understand the content. The dialogues in the CD of the textbook aren’t fast if you compare with the conversation in reality. So, movies have been too hard for me. Before being a mom, I listened to the dialogues in the CD of the textbook too but fewer now. I always don’t understand anything for the first trial. I need to repeat 3 times at least. And I still can’t understand all the content. I like songs more. I learned the lyrics if the songs were interesting. With the lyrics, it is easier to catch the words when I listen to the song.

──────────────────────────

說/Oral/Oral

I speak Spanish in silent everyday. For example, when I am eating, I will try to introduce the food in my mind. Or I will try to introduce my country in Spanish. I have used all the things in my life as a theme. No doubt, I can’t talk about all the things. I choose things that are easy for me only. It doesn’t matter if I don’t know the words. I will use the words that I already known. I might search the translation if I think it is important.

During the class, I talk to my teachers in Spanish a lot. It is a chance to practise oral. The more you speak, the more you gain through making mistakes. Yes, we learn from mistakes. Don’t be shy. The most important is you have to think in Spanish or the language that you are learning.

No seas tímido. Lo más importante es que necesitas pensar en español o el idioma que estás aprendiendo cuando estás hablando.

──────────────────────────

讀/Comprehension/Lectura

When I am free, I read Spanish articles. The point of reading is to learn the sentences. How do the natives talk or write? I don’t check all the new vocabularies. There is a Spanish version on the BBC website. There is a lot of interesting things, from political news to news about pop-stars. I choose the title that caught my attention. Sometimes, I couldn’t understand the content at all and I changed to another article which I could understand more. It didn’t matter if I came across new vocabularies. I would check the dictionary if I thought they were important.

Wikipedia is a website good for studying languages because it has translation in many languages. I searched my country, city etc in Wikipedia. I read Chinese or English version first, Then, I read the Spanish version. It was easier to understand and to guess the meaning of the new words.

I am very curious how Latinos think about things in Taiwan and Malaysia. I searched the Google and found a few articles. It’s easier to read things that I have known already in foreign language and I can learn how to write better sentences.

Cuando tengo tiempo libre, leo artículos en español. El punto de leer es estudiar las frases. ¿Cómo hablan o escriben los nativos? No necesito chequar todas las palabras desconocidas. La página web de BBC tiene versión español. Hay muchas cosas interesantes, desde noticias políticas a noticias de las estrellas pop. Elijo el tema que me llama la atención. Muchas veces, cuando estoy leyando el contenido, no entiendo desda el inicio. Cambio a otro artículo que pueda entender más. No importa si encontro palabras desconocidas. Chequo el diccionario si es importante.

Wikipedia es una buena página web para estudiar idiomas tambíen porque tiene muchas traducciones. Busqué mi país, cuidad etc. por wikipedia. Leí en chino o inglés primero. Después, leí en español. Fue más fácil para entender y pode advinar las palabras desconocidas.

Me da mucha curiosidad cómo latinos ven las cosas en Taiwán y Malasia. He buscado por Google y encontré unos artículos. Es más fácil para leer las cosas que ya sé en otro idioma. Y puedo aprender mejor las frases.

──────────────────────────

寫/Writing/Escrito

對我來說「寫」是比較容易的,但很花時間。在寫東西的時候,我可以思考、翻譯和修改,我不須要像在對話中得馬上反應。書寫是一個練習文法的好方法,特別是動詞。如同會話,在寫的時候最好是使用你正在學習的語言來思考。

Writing is easier for me but it is time consuming. I can think, translate and correct when I am writing. I don’t need to react immediately as in conversation. Writing is a good way for practising grammar, especially the verbs. Like conversation, it’s better to think with the langauge that you are learning when writing.

Escribir es más fácil para mí pero lleva mucho tiempo. Puedo pensar, traducir y corregir cuando estoy escribiendo. No necesito reaccionar inmediatamente como en conversación. Escribir es una buena manera para practicar gramática, especialmente los verbos. Como conversación, es mejor pensar en el idioma que estás aprendiendo cuando estás escribiendo.

撞牆期/Hitting the Wall/Toparse con Una Pared

關於語言學習 4/About Learning Languages 4/Sobre Aprender Idiomas 4

小小的回憶:
依稀記得高中時候有個英文時態(tenses),一直搞不清楚,一向認真的我當然是問老師,老師解釋了好幾次,還是抓不到,最後連之前學會的時態也開始混亂,老師馬上制止我再追究下去,平靜地告訴我:「Leave it. Don’t bother it.」。我很驚訝,因為在就學過程中,老師們都不斷強調「不明白就要問,一定要弄明白」。但是英文老師還是很平靜地叫我別管那個時態了,我有其他時態可以用,它是很重要,但在那一刻並不重要。過了一段時間,有一天我突然不自覺地正確使用了那個時態,用完才驚覺自己怎麼會用了。老師一臉沒什麼地說有時就是這樣。

Laptop encima el escabel. Usando el laptop en la cama.
好矮凳!在床上用電腦。
Laptop on a stool. Using laptop in bed.

─────────────────────────────────

When you are learning a language, sooner or later, you will experience hitting the wall. During that time, you will feel that you can’t progress anymore. Many people felt frustrated when they hit the wall.

I have experienced this many times throughout my learning. My experience, it was a phenomenon or phase of progression. So, don’t reject it. Sometimes, many students are too hardworking and they have lots of pressure. Some even stop learning. What a pity!

When I hit a wall, I changed my strategy. I relaxed. I did my homework as usual. I accepted all my mistakes and tried to understand them. If I couldn’t, I wouldn’t be nervous. Just let it be. I would come back another time. I accepted that my progression was slow during that period of time but I wouldn’t stop learning. I tried to enjoy myself with that language and did something interesting.

If I hit a brick wall seriously and stuck there completely, I stopped studying for a few days, 2 or 3 days, or more. I studied it another time. If I still couldn’t solve it, I stopped for a few days more or tried to enjoy myself with reading, watching movie, singing in Spanish or whatever language I was learning.

If I had a grammatical problem, which I couldn’t understand at that moment, I would put it aside first. I continued to learn new things. I would try to figure it out later. Sometimes it’s easier to understand another time.

Me relajaba. Hacía mi tarea como siempre. Aceptaba todos mis errors y trataba entenderlos. Si no entendía, no me ponía nerviosa. Sólo dejaba que fuera. Regresaba otro tiempo.

Can’t Speak and Write Well?/¿No Pueden Hablar y Escribir Bien?

關於語言學習 3/About Learning Languages 3/Sobre Aprender Idiomas 3

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When learning a foreigne language, many students are good at memorizing words and can read well. But they can’t speak and write well. Why?

I found that many students translate the phrases and sentences while they are speaking and writing. They think in their mother tongue and translate it into another language. But there is a problem, lack of adequate words. Without doubt, every person is good at his/her mother tongue, having sufficient vacabulary. But for a new language, he/she doesn’t have so many vocaburalies. So, they can’t complete their sentences.

The truth is, with simple words, they can create many phrases and sentences. You just need to think in that language because you can use the words you had already known. It is easier to make a phrase or sentence with it than to translate it.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This Grammar is Illogical?/¿Esta Gramática es Ilogica?

關於語言學習2/About Learning Languages 2/Sobre Aprender Idiomas 2

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The way we learn our mother tongue is different from the way we learn the other language. We learn our mother tongue since we were born. We learn the grammar naturally for a long period of time. When we were learning the other language, many of us found that it was more difficult, especially the grammar.

There is a interesting phenomenon in Taiwan. A lot of students like to say that the grammar is illogical when learning foreign language, for example, why there are so many tenses for the past, why you need to use subjunctive in wiahings in Spanish. They find the grammar hard to accept. And they can’t use it well.

From my point of view, every grammar of a language is logical for the native speakers. But if you use the logic of Mandarin to learn English or Spanish, it is illogical. So, my advise is when you are learning a language, don’t question it’s grammar. The difference between 2 languages is equal to the difference between riding a bicycle and driving a car. You can’t drive a car with the method of riding a bicycle. You have to be open-minded.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

油桐花/Tung Blossom/La Flo de Tung
從空白開始的零起點學習/Starting from Zero/Aprender desde Cero

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I began my Spanish lessons from zero 4 years ago with my teacher, Yolanda for fun. She is a bit younger than me and is not a typical taiwanese teacher. So, we can talk to each other like friends. A few days ago, we were talking about learning languages. Yolanda asked me if I would feel shame when talked to a native speaker.

I:"Shame? No, without shame."

Yolanda laughed. So I told her because the native speaker had already known that I am a foreigner. He/she won't expect I speak good Spanish. So, I don't feel shame.

Then, Yolanda asked me what is my attitude towards making mistakes. I have never ever thought about that. I took a few seconds to think.

I:"Mistakes? Attitude? Not a problem!"
(This was the best sentence I could say with my limited vocubularies)
Yolanda:"Not a problem for you?"
I:"No. Is that a problem?"
(I was feeling suspious if she was annoyed by my constant mistakes.)
Yolanda:"Good."
(Seemed not. Safe~)

Yolanda asked me if I felt shame when I made mistakes. I said "no". All in a sudden, I felt that I was a shameless person. Quickly, she told me that I had an good attitude. She said a lot of taiwanese students afraid of making mistakes and didn't want to talk. I told her that it's normal to make mistakes especially when you are speaking in a foreign language. A native speaker won't expect you speak very good. So, no need to be worried about making mistakes.

Yolanda:"Is making mistakes normal for you?"
I:"I think for all people. Definitely, there will be a mistake especially for students It is impossible to speak without mistake."

Yolanda asked me why I had such attitude. I think it is because I am a Malaysian. Almost all Malaysians are multilingual. We have different mother tongue. When we are not using mother tongue, we always make mistakes. We have used to it. The most important is understanding the content.

Frankly, it is not easy for me to say the above to Yolanda in Spanish with my limited vocabularies. I am student of level B1. But, a language is a tool. The more you use, the more you masterize. No need to be perfect.

(Language is an interesting theme. Part 2 is coming!)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nunca he pensado esta pregunta. Tomé unos segundos para pensar.

Yo:"¿Errores? ¿Actitud? ¡No es problema! "
Yolanda:"¿No es problema para ti?
Yo:"No. ¿Es un problema?"
Yolanda:"Bueno."

Sobre Mi Blog

Me ponía nerviosa. No tenía confianza.

Me gustaban mucho.
