學習外語不容易，特別是那些語言在當地很少使用。我們沒有那個練習的環境，但這並不會阻止我們學習。我記得我的西班牙文老師Yolanda告訴我，她在大學學西班牙文時，每天都把西班牙文的電台開著，或播放課本的CD一整天，當作是一種背景，不論有沒有聽懂。有一天，她發現她竟然聽懂了。

Learning foreign languages are difficult especially they are seldom used locally. We don’t have the environment to practice but it won’t stop us from learning. I remembered that the story of my Spanish teacher, Yolanda. She told me that when she was learning Spanish in the university, she turned on her Spanish radio or CD from the textbook all day long as her background music. It didn’t matter if she understood. And one day, she found that she understood the content.

Aprender idiomas extranjeros es difícil especialmente si usa raramente en el área local. No tenemos el ambiente para practicar. Pero eso no nos impedirá aprender. Me recuerdo de la historia de mi profesora Yolanda. Me dijo que cuando ella estudiaba español en la universidad, ponía la radio de español o el CD del libro todos los días como fondo. No importaba si entendía o no. Y un día, ella descubrió que entendía.

聽／Listening／Auditiva

聽力對我來說比較難，字的輸入比閱讀來得快，如果抓不到詞彙，我們就會少了某些訊息。就算是我們抓到了詞彙，我們也要花一點時間來理解內容。相較於現實中的對話，課本CD中的對話其實說得並不快，所以電影對我來說太難了。在當媽媽前，我也會聽課本的CD，雖然現在很少了，但每次第一遍聽，一定完全聰不懂，我必須至少聽3遍，才能聽懂一些，不是全部。我比較喜歡歌曲，如果我喜歡，我會把歌詞學起來。有了歌詞，在聽的時候，我比較容易聽得出字詞。

The listening is harder for me. The entrance of words is faster than reading. If we can’t catch the words, we will lose certain information. Although we catch the words, we need some time to understand the content. The dialogues in the CD of the textbook aren’t fast if you compare with the conversation in reality. So, movies have been too hard for me. Before being a mom, I listened to the dialogues in the CD of the textbook too but fewer now. I always don’t understand anything for the first trial. I need to repeat 3 times at least. And I still can’t understand all the content. I like songs more. I learned the lyrics if the songs were interesting. With the lyrics, it is easier to catch the words when I listen to the song.

La audición es más difícil para mí. La entrada de palabras es más rápida que al leer. Si no podemos captar las palabras, perderemos cierta información. Aunque captemos las palabras, necesitamos un tiempo para comprender el contenido. Los dialogos de los libros no son rápidos si comparas con conversación en real. Por eso, ver peliculas ha sido demasiado difícil para mí. Antes de ser madre, escuchaba los diálogos de los libro también pero ahora poco. Siempre no entiendo nada por primera vez. Necesito repetir 3 veces por lo menos. Todavía no entiendo todo. Me gustan mucho las canciones. Aprendo las letras si son interesantes. Con letras es más fácil para captar las palabras que cuando estoy escuchando.

我每天都會在心中用西文對話，例如，當我在吃飯時，我會試著在心中用西文來介紹這些食物，或是試著介紹自己的國家。生活中的所有人事物都可以成為一個主題。毫無疑問的，我當然沒辦法用西文描述所有的東西，我只選擇對我來說比較簡單的東西來介紹。如果有不知道的字詞也不要緊，只用我已經知道的字彙，如果我覺得那個字彙很重要，我才會去查翻譯。

在課堂上，我和老師常用西文對話，這是一個練習口語的機會，講越多，從錯誤中學到越多。沒錯，我們是從錯誤中學習的，不需要感到害羞。最重要的是在說話的時候，你必須用西文或正在學習的語言來思考。

I speak Spanish in silent everyday. For example, when I am eating, I will try to introduce the food in my mind. Or I will try to introduce my country in Spanish. I have used all the things in my life as a theme. No doubt, I can’t talk about all the things. I choose things that are easy for me only. It doesn’t matter if I don’t know the words. I will use the words that I already known. I might search the translation if I think it is important.

During the class, I talk to my teachers in Spanish a lot. It is a chance to practise oral. The more you speak, the more you gain through making mistakes. Yes, we learn from mistakes. Don’t be shy. The most important is you have to think in Spanish or the language that you are learning.

Hablo español en silencio diariamente. Por ejemplo, cuando estoy comiendo, trato de explicar en silencio sobre la comida. O trato de presentar mi país en español. He usado todas las cosas de mi vida como un tema para practicar. Sin duda, no puedo hablar de todas las cosas. Solamente, elijo cosas fáciles para mí. No importa si no conozco las palabras. Uso las palabras que ya aprendí. Busco la traducción si creo que es importante.

Durante la clase, hablo mucho con mis profesores en español. Es una opotunidad para practicar hablar. Hablo más, gano más por cometer errores. Sí, aprendemos por errores. No seas tímido. Lo más importante es que necesitas pensar en español o el idioma que estás aprendiendo cuando estás hablando.

有空的時候我會讀一些西文文章。閱讀的重點是學習句子，母語者是怎樣說和寫的？不用每個生字都查字典。BBC的網頁有西文版，有許多有趣的東西，從政治新聞到娛樂新聞都有。我會選一些吸引我的標題，但很多時候，看沒幾行就發現完全看不懂。這時我會直接換另一篇，看我比較看得懂的。有不認識的生字也不要緊，如果我覺得它重要，我才會去查字典。

Wikipedia也是一個學習語言的好網頁，因為它有很多不同版本的譯文。我會Wikipedia搜尋我的國家、城市等等，然後先看中文或英文的版本，再看西文的，這樣在看西文時，會比較容易理解和猜測那些不認識的生字。

我也很好奇拉美人如何看待台灣和馬來西亞的人事物，所以我搜尋了Google，然後找到一些文章。用西文或不熟的語文來閱讀我已經知道的人事物，我會覺得比較簡單，我也可以學到怎樣寫出比較好的句子。

When I am free, I read Spanish articles. The point of reading is to learn the sentences. How do the natives talk or write? I don’t check all the new vocabularies. There is a Spanish version on the BBC website. There is a lot of interesting things, from political news to news about pop-stars. I choose the title that caught my attention. Sometimes, I couldn’t understand the content at all and I changed to another article which I could understand more. It didn’t matter if I came across new vocabularies. I would check the dictionary if I thought they were important.

Wikipedia is a website good for studying languages because it has translation in many languages. I searched my country, city etc in Wikipedia. I read Chinese or English version first, Then, I read the Spanish version. It was easier to understand and to guess the meaning of the new words.

I am very curious how Latinos think about things in Taiwan and Malaysia. I searched the Google and found a few articles. It’s easier to read things that I have known already in foreign language and I can learn how to write better sentences.

Cuando tengo tiempo libre, leo artículos en español. El punto de leer es estudiar las frases. ¿Cómo hablan o escriben los nativos? No necesito chequar todas las palabras desconocidas. La página web de BBC tiene versión español. Hay muchas cosas interesantes, desde noticias políticas a noticias de las estrellas pop. Elijo el tema que me llama la atención. Muchas veces, cuando estoy leyando el contenido, no entiendo desda el inicio. Cambio a otro artículo que pueda entender más. No importa si encontro palabras desconocidas. Chequo el diccionario si es importante.

Wikipedia es una buena página web para estudiar idiomas tambíen porque tiene muchas traducciones. Busqué mi país, cuidad etc. por wikipedia. Leí en chino o inglés primero. Después, leí en español. Fue más fácil para entender y pode advinar las palabras desconocidas.

Me da mucha curiosidad cómo latinos ven las cosas en Taiwán y Malasia. He buscado por Google y encontré unos artículos. Es más fácil para leer las cosas que ya sé en otro idioma. Y puedo aprender mejor las frases.

寫／Writing／Escrito

對我來說「寫」是比較容易的，但很花時間。在寫東西的時候，我可以思考、翻譯和修改，我不須要像在對話中得馬上反應。書寫是一個練習文法的好方法，特別是動詞。如同會話，在寫的時候最好是使用你正在學習的語言來思考。

Writing is easier for me but it is time consuming. I can think, translate and correct when I am writing. I don’t need to react immediately as in conversation. Writing is a good way for practising grammar, especially the verbs. Like conversation, it’s better to think with the langauge that you are learning when writing.

Escribir es más fácil para mí pero lleva mucho tiempo. Puedo pensar, traducir y corregir cuando estoy escribiendo. No necesito reaccionar inmediatamente como en conversación. Escribir es una buena manera para practicar gramática, especialmente los verbos. Como conversación, es mejor pensar en el idioma que estás aprendiendo cuando estás escribiendo.

「Despacito」太粗俗？／Is ‘Despacito’ Too Vulgar?／¿Es ‘Despacito’ Demasiado Vulgar?

自從當媽之後，我就和西語世界失聯了，沒有Ricky Martin和Shakira，更沒有足球。但是，大約在3個星期前，有一則來自馬來西亞的新聞引起了我的注意。馬來西亞政府說西班牙語歌曲「Despacito」應該要被禁止播放，因為歌詞太粗俗(有性指涉)。然後，還真的被禁了，公共頻道不得播出，雖然很多馬來西亞人說他們根本聽不懂歌曲的內容，因為馬來西亞學校沒有教西班牙文。他們只是喜歡這首歌的旋律，很上腦。

這讓我很好奇到底這首歌有多粗俗，因此我去You Tube找了一下。很不幸的，我竟然覺得很好聽！這是我自從復學西班牙文後的第一首西文歌。會太粗俗嗎？對我來說這只是很典型的拉丁風格，我覺得影片中的舞蹈還比歌詞還「大膽」，但這種舞蹈在拉丁的MV中也很普遍。不論禁不禁，這首歌現在就是很紅。

After being a mom, I haven’t kept in touch with the Spanish world. There has been no Ricky Martin or Shakira, even football. But about 3 weeks ago, a news from Malaysia caught my attention. It was said that the Spanish Song ‘Despacito’ should be prohibited from broadcasting through public chanels in Malaysia due to the too vulgar lyric. And it did. Although a lot of Malaysians said that they didn’t understand anything about the content because they didn’t study Spanish in Malaysia. They liked it for its rhythm.

Then, I was very curious and checked the You Tube. Unfortunately, I loved it very much! Yes, my first Spanish song since I restarted my Spanish class. Is it too vulgar? It seems to me that it is a typical latino style. I think the dancing in the video is more ‘vulgar’ than the lyric but this dance is common in the video of latino music too. It doesn’t matter prohibit or not, the song is popular now.

Después de se madre, no había contactado con el mundo latino. No había Ricky Martin o Shakira, incluso fútbol. Pero hace 3 semanas más o menos, una noticia de Malasia me llamó la atención. Dicen que la canción ‘Despacito’ se prohibió en Malasia porque la letra es muy vulgar. Y, lo hicieron. Aunque mucho gente de Malasia decían que no entendián nada sobre el contenido porque ellos no estudian español en Malasia, les gustaba la canción por su ritmo.

Después, me dió curiosidad y chequé You Tube. ¡Infelizmente, me gustó mucho! Sí, mi primera canción español desde que reinicié la clase de español. ¿Es demasiado vulgar? Me parece que es el típico estilo latino. Creo que el baile en el video es más ‘vulgar’ que la letra. Pero este baile es común en videos de musica latina también. No importa prohibir o no, la cancion es popular ahora.

一些馬來西亞的習俗／Some Customs of Malaysia／Unas Costumbres de Malasia

馬來西亞是個多元種族的國家，有馬來人、華人、印度人和許多土著，每個族群都有各自的習俗，但基本上大家都很包容。如果你不知道這些習俗也不會怎樣，所以可以放心來馬來西亞旅遊。

Malaysia is a multiracial country. There are Malay, Chinese, Indian and many aborignal races. Each has its own customs but the people is talerent. There won’t be anything happened if you don’t know the customs. So, don’t worry about it when you are travelling in Malaysia.

Malasia es un país multiracial. Hay raza de malayo, chino, indio y muchas razas aborígenes. Cada raza tiene sus costumbres. Pero la gente es tolerante. No pasará nada si no sabres las costumbres. Por eso, no te preocupes cuando vayas a Malasia.



在馬來西亞還是有一些共同的習俗。第一、馬來西亞人是用右手拇指來指東西的，一定要右手，不可以用左手。這是一個來自馬來人的習俗，對馬來人來說，用食指指東西是不禮貌的，你必須用右手的拇指來指，其餘的4根手指要握拳。

There are some customs en common in Malaysia. First, the Malaysians point with their right thumbs. It’s a custom from the Malay ethnic. For them, pointing with index finger is rude. You need to point with your right thumb and crench the rest of the 4 fingers.

Hay unas comtumbres comunes en Malasia. Primero, los malasios apuntan con el pulgar derecho. Es una costumbre del malayo étnico. Para ellos, apuntar con el dedo indice es rudo. Necesitas apuntar con tu pulgar derecho y apretar los otros 4 dedos.

二、馬來人(來自馬來族群的人)，正確地說，回教徒(也叫穆斯林)，他們認為左手是不乾淨的，是用來清洗屁股的。因此，馬來人只用右手來握手、打招呼、送禮和吃東西。傳統上，馬來人和印度人是用手吃東西的，如果你不會只用右手吃飯，你可以請他們給你湯匙和叉子。

Second, the Malay(people of the Malay ethnic), precisely the muslims, they think that left hand is dirty, is for cleaning the bottom. So, the Malays use their right hand only to shake hand, greet, present a gift and eat. Traditionally, the Malays and the Indians eat with their hands. If you don’t know how to eat with your right hand only, you can ask for a spoon and a fork.

Segundo, los malayos(la gente del malayo étnico), precisamente los musulmanes, creen que la mano izquerda es sicia, es para limpiar el culo. Por eso, para darse la mano, saludar, regalar y comer, los malayos usan la mano derechas solamente. Tradicionalmente, los malayos y los indios comen con sus manos. Si no sabes comer con tu mano derecha solamente, puedes pedir la cuchara y el tenedor.



三、傳統上，馬來人和印度人是席地而坐的，現在幾乎每個家園都有椅子，但很多人，包括華人，有時還是會坐在地上。對馬來人來說，男士要盤腿而坐，女士則是把雙腿盤在左邊。

Third, traditionally, the Malays and the Indians sit on the floor. Nowadays, almost all the houses have chairs but people, include the Chinese, sit on the floor sometimes. To the Malays, the men sit cross-legged and women sit cross-legged putting to the left.

Trecero, tradicionalmente, los malayos y los indios se sientan en el suelo. Ahora, casi todas las casas tienen las sillas, pero la gente, incluso los chinos, se sientan en el suelo a veces. Para los malayos, los hombres se sientan con las piernas cruzadas. Las mujeres se sientan con las piernas cruzadas poner a la izquerda.

四、在商業職場普遍上以握手打招呼，一般上，人們是以微笑和點頭示意來打招呼，特別是比較保守的族群。不同性別的人鮮少握手，除非女士先伸出手。

Fourth, greeting with hand shake is common in business. Normally people greets with a smile and nods, especially the consevative races. Persons with different sex seldom shake hands. Unless the women extend their hands first.

Cuatro, saludar con darse la mano es común en negocios. Normalmente la gente saluda con sanrisa y cabezear, especialmente las razas conservadores. Las personas de diferentes sexos se dan la mano muy poco. A menos que las mujeres den la mano primero.



五、不要在送禮者面前拆禮物。

Fifth, do not open the gifts in front of the giver.

Cinco, no abras los regalos delante de la persona que lo regala.



六、回教徒(也叫穆斯林)不吃豬肉，包括含豬油的食物。印度人和許多華人不是牛肉，有時甚至不喝牛奶。如果你要舉辦一個各族人士出席的宴會，所有食物一定是「halal」的，也不能有牛肉。(halal也譯作清真食品是指遵循伊斯蘭教義、被允許的食品。)

Sixth, the muslims don’t eat pork, including food with pork fat. The indians and a lot of Chinese don’t eat beef, sometimes including milk. If there is a party for all the people in Malaysia, the food is ‘halal’ definitely and without beef.

Seis, los musulmanes no comer cerdo, incluso comida con grasa de cerdo. Los indios y muchos chinos no comen carne de vaca, incluso leche a veces. Si hay una fiesta para toda la gente en Malasia, la comida es ‘halal’ seguro y sin vaca.



七、普遍上大馬人(也就是馬來西亞人、所有的馬來西亞公民)比台灣人保守，在公眾場合不可以接吻。回教徒(也叫穆斯林)的情侶們甚至不可在公眾場會牽手。很少女生會穿bikini，有時甚至在海邊也不穿泳衣，有些人穿著一般的衣服進入泳池。去政府部門時，衣物必需要遮蔽膝蓋、手臂和身體。

Seventh, the Malaysians (all the people in Malaysia) are more conservative than Taiwanese generally. We don’t kiss in the public. The muslims even can’t hold hands with their girl/boyfriends in public. Few girls wear bikini, sometimes even not wearing swimsuit at the beach. Some people wear their daily outfit in a swimming pool. When we visit the governmental departments, we need to cover our knees, arms and bodies

Siete, los malasios son más conservadores que los taiwaneses generalmente. No nos besamos en público. Los musulmanes incluso no pueden tomarse la mano con sus novios en público. Muy pocas chicas se ponen bikini a veces incluso trajes de baño en la playa. Algunas personas se ponen ropas normales cuando entran a la piscina. Cuando visitamos las oficinas gubernamentales, necesitamos ponernos ropa que cubre las rodillas, brazos y cuerpos.
