很多學生在學習外語時，很會記生字，也很會閱讀，但說和寫卻不太行。為什麼呢？

我發現很多學生在說或寫外語時，是使用翻譯的方式。他們使用母語思考，然後再把句子翻譯成外語。但，這會有個問題，就是缺乏相對應的詞彙。每個人的母語都會很好，擁有足夠的詞彙，但外語的話，一般學生的詞彙沒那麼多，因此，他們沒辦法完整翻譯出他們的句子。

事實是，許多句子是可以由簡單的詞彙組成，只要使用該語言思考就可以了，因為這樣才可以活用已經認識的詞彙。直接創造一個句子會比翻譯一個句子簡單。

When learning a foreigne language, many students are good at memorizing words and can read well. But they can’t speak and write well. Why?

I found that many students translate the phrases and sentences while they are speaking and writing. They think in their mother tongue and translate it into another language. But there is a problem, lack of adequate words. Without doubt, every person is good at his/her mother tongue, having sufficient vacabulary. But for a new language, he/she doesn’t have so many vocaburalies. So, they can’t complete their sentences.

The truth is, with simple words, they can create many phrases and sentences. You just need to think in that language because you can use the words you had already known. It is easier to make a phrase or sentence with it than to translate it.

Cuando están aprendiendo una lengua extranjera, mucha estudiantes son buenos para memorizar palabras y pueden leer muy bien. Pero, no pueden hablar y escribir bien. ¿Por qué?

Descubí que muchos estudiantes traducen las frases cuando hablan y escriben. Piensan en su lengua materna y traducen a lengua extranjera. Pero, hay um problema, la falta de palabras adecuadas. Sin duda, cada persona es buena en su lengua materna, tiene vocabulario suficientes. Pero, para un idioma nuevo, no tiene mucho vocabulario. Por eso, no pueden completar sus frases.

La verdad es que con palabras simples se pueden construir muchas frases. Solamente necesitas pensar en este idioma. Porque puedes usar palabras conodicas. Es más fácil crear una frase que traducirla.

習得母語的方式和其他語言的方式不同，我們從出生開始就學習母語。在長時間地浸染下，我們自然而然地學會了母語的文法。當我們學習其他語言時，很多人會覺得困難，特別是文法部份。

在台灣有個有趣的現象，很多學生在學習外語時，喜歡說某語言的文法不合邏輯，例如為什麼有那麼多種過去式，為什麼西班牙語在祝福別人時要用虛擬式。他們認為這不合邏輯，然後很難接受它，之後也使用得不太順利。

我覺得每種語言的文法對它的母語者而言都是很合邏輯的，但如果你用華語的文法去學習英語或西班牙語，這就不合邏輯了。我的建議是當你在學習一種語言時，不要去質疑它的文法。兩種語言的差別就如騎腳踏車和開汽車的差別，你不能用騎腳踏車的方法來開車。因此，在學習外語時必須心胸開放。

The way we learn our mother tongue is different from the way we learn the other language. We learn our mother tongue since we were born. We learn the grammar naturally for a long period of time. When we were learning the other language, many of us found that it was more difficult, especially the grammar.

There is a interesting phenomenon in Taiwan. A lot of students like to say that the grammar is illogical when learning foreign language, for example, why there are so many tenses for the past, why you need to use subjunctive in wiahings in Spanish. They find the grammar hard to accept. And they can’t use it well.

From my point of view, every grammar of a language is logical for the native speakers. But if you use the logic of Mandarin to learn English or Spanish, it is illogical. So, my advise is when you are learning a language, don’t question it’s grammar. The difference between 2 languages is equal to the difference between riding a bicycle and driving a car. You can’t drive a car with the method of riding a bicycle. You have to be open-minded.

La manera de aprender la lengua materna es diferente con la manera de aprender otra lengua. Lengua materna aprendemos desde que nacimos. Aprendimos la gramática naturalmente por largo tiempo. Cuande estamos aprendiendo otra lengua, mucha a la gente le resulta más difícil especialmente la gramática.

Hay un fenómeno interesante en Taiwán. A los estudientes les gustaban decir que la gramática es ilogica cuando estaban aprendiendo lengua extranjera. Y tienen dificultad para aceptarla. Entonces, no la utilizan bien.

Desde mi punto de visto, cada gramática de un idioma es lógica para los nativos. Pero si usas la lógica de idioma chino para aprender idioma inglés o español es ilogico. Por eso, mi consejo es cuando estás aprendiendo un idioma, te compliques de su gramática. La diferencia de 2 idiomas es igual a la diferencia de montar la bicileta y manejar el coche. No puedes manejar un coche con la manera de montar una bicicleta. Necesitas ser abierto.
